In the title of this topic we have put confusion and guidance together, because so often, confusion contains within itself a guiding thread. In Chaos Theory, chaos contains “strange attractors” through which marvelous patterns emerge. Sometimes chaos within us seems to overwhelm us. At such times, we can focus on what seems strangest to us within our own confusion, and take hold of it as the string that will lead us out of turmoil.

We must dare to live even the confusion. As Rainer Maria Rilke says in his Letters to a Young Poet, “The point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”
