Personality Types & Gratefulness

+What is the Enneagram and what does it have to do with Gratefulness? It is a fine-tuned psychological instrument to enable self-understanding. Self-knowledge as such is a cause for gratitude. As the Psalmist prays, “I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are Thy works” (Psalm 139: 14). Yet, our very understanding of a prayer like this will depend on our personality. Each type has its own way of being grateful, its own obstacles also against grateful living. As we try to overcome our specific obstacles and to cultivate our particular talents for being grateful, the Enneagram can help us enormously. It goes deeper and is more comprehensive than all other typologies available today. Personality types themselves come to light, but the Enneagram goes a step further to illuminate their interactions with one another and so facilitate the way we deal with relationships. The number of those who are deeply grateful for this ancient device -- which has been rediscovered and developed in our own time – is daily growing.
