Prayer for the Strength
to Be Gentle

+ O God
Grant me the strength
      to be gentle,
and enough calmness
      to be strong.
Grant me Thy love
      which will make me
      stronger than death,
So that with this love
I may possess that
      mildness
at whose touch
difficulties
      easily give way.
