I love the sound of silence after driving out of the city in the desert in the evening. I love the whispy sound of the pine trees in the mountains at the break of dawn.

I love the sound of wind chimes - also the
sound of distance traffic cars/motorcycles
on a highway.
Also the sound of hearty laughter that
just goes on and on -

I love the sounds of birds when they are mating and sounds of fighting over the nests, the sounds of our home made water fall under our window,to sit and watch the beauty of the world unfold and let it's presents be known. To listen to my wonderful meditation music while healing the inner self.

I woke up this early this morning before daybreak, to the lovely peaceful sound of birds chirping. The singing was so relaxing! I just listened for a while, then I felt like I should do something (like turn on the t.v.), well that didn't last long. I quickly turned off the t.v. and became calm again. WOW!!!

I should not miss mention of Music - that, in one form or another, has deeply touched my soul and given wings to my spirit since I was a child, and still can to this day: especially Sacred music; Choral music (especially by children's choirs); the soulful sound of Blues guitar and Blues harmonica; the Guitar music of Carlos Santana, Lindsey Buckingham and Eric Clapton; Keyboards played so magically by Chester Thompson, Ray Manzarek, Bruce Hornsby or Christine McVee; the Drum circles at Venice Beach; the singing Voices of Judy Collins, Charlotte Church, Sarah McLachlan..............

Without a doubt:
the Wind rushing - softly OR loudly - through trees, especially pines (the most blessed and ethereal sound in nature, to me)
the soft, rythmic sound of sea Waves gently slapping up against the bottom of the cliff a couple hundred feet below me at Esalen in Big Sur (it IS peace)
and my son's sweet Voice whenever he greets me with "Hi, Mom" (it gives me comfort)

I love the sound of the stones of emotion dropping into the bowl of water found in the online Labyrinth, (the Take off your shoes and walk the Labyrinth, one). I discovered some real, leftover issues, in my life. I got a chance to deal with them. I shed a few tears, but that was o.k. too.

I love the sound of the birds early in the morning.I love the laughter of children.I love the sound of the ocean and the gulls cry.Wind blowing through the trees. The sound of my name said by the love of my life,he is gone now but I still hear it in the memory of my mind.
And when I listen with my heart, the voice of God.
The sound of the rain and thunder. The song's of frogs and crickets in a summer night. The quiet stillness in the mountains.
Thank You Lord ,for my ears that hear...And the heart that I hear with ,when You speak...

I love the sound of water lapping against the side of a boat, of the breeze rushing through ferns or willows, of my cats purring, my bf purring, of my bf saying my name, of children laughing. I love the sound of horses hooves smacking against the ground, of the groan their bellies make when they are submerged in water, and their neighs. I love the sound dolphins make, the sound of my bf sighing after a long day once he rests his head in my lap or when I hug him. I love the sound of people loving, supporting, encouraging one another. I love music... all kinds.

I love the sound of rain on a roof, the purring of my cats, of making love with my gf, the sounds of a motorcycle engining revving high, of children laughing, of babies crying, the key of the door turning when my gf comes home, the sound of coins when they drop. I like the sound of popping popcorn, of a good ippon judo throw. I like the sound of silence.

Birdsong. Cats purring. Handel's Messiah. 1960s and 1970s rock music (but NOT disco!). Surf. Little brooks babbling over stones. Thunder. Choirs. Organs. Brass ensembles. Sound is one of the things that connects us to each other. I'm lucky enough to work for a doctor who does cochlear implants and can restore hearing to people who have lost it, bless him.

I am very grateful for the beautiful and inspiring sounds which accompany the Angels of the Hours practice. I have tried doing this practice silently, without the sound, and it is completely different and much harder for me.

The sweetest sounds to me are present to me when my baby grandson giggles with delight when being held and loved. His sweet sounds nourish my sou and remind me how present God is in my life through the gift of

Yesterday my ears and heart were greatly
touched by the words my boyfriend shared
with me. He spoke of his great love for all
the women of the Earth and how he loved
them in their totality. What beautiful words
he shared with me :) He is so eloquent and
sincere. He is a true gentleman and always
opens the car door for me first...rain or shine.
Thanks to you my love, for all that you are...
Your are the most beautiful example of strength and simplicity.... you are by far one
of the rarest most precious gems of them all.
