Gratefulness for Smells
Smells are great memory teasers. Allow yourself the pleasure of remembering a favorite smell, and compare it with the favorites of others.

I recognise smell of different emotions in certain people. When they are in a bad space or good. I can smell my partner and know something is happening, even though he is in another building. Over the years his smell has improved and so has his spirit. I also enjoy the smell of the bush:)

The smells of spring time: the rich earth; the grass that yearns to grow; pavement and dirt emerging from under snow banks; the indescribable smell of the promise of renwal in the air.

The sharp wet smell of the snowstorm, the hint of earthy-iron in the icicles, the fruity smell of a warm munching horse and the fresh hay just thrown down in the barn we shelter in.

I love the smell of my great grandma's house or the perfume of her's, I'm not sure which one it was because I haven't visited her in many years. Anyways one day while I was in a store I walked down an isle and passed this old woman. I walked right by her at first, but then I smelt my great grandma's fragrence. I couldn't help but stand behind the lady and smell her. It just brought back so many memories and I could resist it. Don't worry I was like pressing my nose to her back or anything, her scent was very strong so I could smell it from like 2ft. away. I just stood there for awhile remenincing over the smell. I couldn't pull myself away for a while!!

I love the smell of dirt, rain, the purple flowers in the town next to mine, and the smell of masamorra (a corn soupy thing my grandma makes). I only see her once a year and so the smell is SO sweet to me and the taste is just as sweet. The flowers I happened to smell once as I walked by them at a birthday party. Now I drive by to smell them. I also like the way my dog's feet smell...and my father smells good too....and the woods. I just love using my nose and all the other senses God gave me. Go ahead and call me weird; I'm in love with life.

The smell of the woods I believe is one of the most healing smells in the world, closely followed by that of a sun drenched field!

My daughter has I childerns book I love about a child who follows trolls in the forrest, gets a slapp on the bottom from a troll and a tail grows out and s/he becomes a troll. The trolls don“t have names, they have smells. One smells of pine, another of vanilla, yet another smells of ants. This is what characterizes them since the can change their apperence, totally, at will. This is also true about humans but we only seem to bother about it with our loved ones. I love the smell of my daughter. I sniff her in the morning when I wake her upp. I sniff my boyfriend whenever I get a chance. I like the way my home smells, it gives me peace. I also love the smell of the crisp autum morning air and the smell of rain.
