Just recently I discovered the pleasure of drinking cold water instead of other cold drinks, hot water instead of tea or coffe. What a gift that we can just turn on a faucet and out comes drinkable water! It makes me deeply grateful. When I think how rare this gift is in our world I want to help people in less privileged regions of our planet.

I have been letting go of material things more and more. Orderliness and simplicity are both empowering for me. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share.

I've discovered that to live simply takes courage. Saying "no" is hard work.

Since I practice gratefulness my desire to live simply increases. I am more aware of the natural resources of Mother Earth and do not use my car unless it is really important...I cycle and walk and so also exercise my body. I also started giving away things I do not need (see notice board) and when I buy something I think thrice :do I really need it?
And I notice how little I really need. I must admit that I have a weakness for books though...but I only buy those I want to study and cannot find in a library.

I practice simple living by slowing down. At first it went against my nature to walk slow, eat slow, etc. Now going slow is easy. I get up in the morning earlier than I need to so I never have to rush. What a difference this has made.

Taking up on the inspiration of slowing down I also found that it simplies life and enriches it.

My husband and I choose not to have a television. We will rent movies for television entertainment. I find that this has simplified our lives. We are no longer inundated with commercials and american propoganda. We simply spend our time when we are home, reading, talking, eating meals, preparing meals, sleeping and generally relaxing. try it!

I think simple living in terms of material possessions is not the real problem. It's the commitments and professional duties that are hard to let go of. I am a teacher and it is my duty to prepare my lessons well. For me, this means 50-hour week - which leaves little time for myself. What can I do? I haven't come up with a solution yet!

To relax, you need to find yourself a little time, be it 1o minutes or an hour to claer the mind and meditate a while. Anyone can find 10 minutes, and it is YOUR time to rewind and relax. Practice and reading will enrich your soul, and when you connect in the meditation realm, you find all the energies your body will need..

i have learned that my work in nursing helps me to discover new ways in simplyfing my life,as well as others. i find great peace to be there for someone when they need to voice how they feel, especially the elderly. just to have a listening ear is of most importance.

Dear, -ba, Tx. I’ve just spent 5 days in hospital after surgery. I was impressed over and over again by the gentleness and expert care given. What would have been an embarrassing moment in another situation became a moment of laughter and celebration of recovery. Thanks for all you and your kindred spirits do.
