I´m looking forward to a pilgrimage through Umbria, where St. Francis lived. I will be on my own, try to find my way, not always knowing where I may eat and sleep. Since this idea was born, my life has become more simple.Trough this aim I know what to do: Learning Italian, training my body and try to be inspired from above. I´m grateful for this wonderful adventure. Who is doing something similaire? I really would like to hear from you.Thank you

To Kim, thank you. I am so sorry for your loss. Each day I will make an effort to let go & not have my possessions control me. There is so much more to life, esp. my family, that is more important than material things. So, here's to living simply. What else do I need?! I will keep you in my prayers. Bright Blessings to all.

I just found this website today & have cried. I have been wanting to live simply and have been paring down for about 3 years. I have gotten better on letting go & being grateful for what I do have. Although at times I am torn between guilt of having more than others & I ask why me and other times I feel angry & envious of what other people have that is far better than what I have. I feel that I still need to let go of material items that I am holding on to & live a more simple life. I guess I am asking for guidance & words of wisdom - at times I feel so lost. Thank you.

This is a tip for women: recently I've decided to return to THE DRESS. To spend time mixing and matching and buying separates on a day to day basis takes too much time, money, thought, effort. I am streamlining my closet so that the simple, all-season dress dominates -- grab one and go. You'll never be under-dressed, you're comfortable, and you don't have to give it a second thought.

What has helped me simplify my life is decluttering. I have thrown away, given away, donated everything that is not utilitarian in my life. Spiritual Direction sessions with an elder friend has given me introspection and room for thought. I praise every day and my life motto has become: Living Gratefully, I am grateful you are my friend.
