Religious Harmony
One of the most reliable routes to world peace is for people to share their sacred experiences without getting snarled in religious divisions. Each religion has a unique bouquet of love, harmony, and beauty. Taken all together, these varied bouquets bring a powerful healing fragrance to our world. Here is your place to offer to others encounters with the Divine nearest to your heart.

Sitting in silence this morning and doing this practice prompted me to contact an old friend and make amends. It just came to me after many years of silence between us.

Moments of peace for me; walking a path near trees - coming to a bench - sitting in the warm sun - seeing the brilliant green grass - my heart filled with quiet joy - just 'being' in that blessed moment - out of thought - drinking up the glorious gifts - I am thankful again as I relive it.

The air I breathe in has been around for eons, it is the same air, just recycled, that all my ancestors breathed. What connection.

Mother Theresa has said: "I respect my Muslim brother and I respect my Hindu brother but for me GOD has ordained for me to be a catholic and to serve him in this way: That is how I feel. I want to be a friend to my Muslim brother and my Hindu sister. Like Charles de Foucald who went to live in the desert in Tamanssaret to be a friend to the tuareg people nver wanting to convert them always wanting to just be there, to be a friend to them that is what GOD calls me to do today!

While meditating, I suddenly realized that I was OK the way I was. I didn't have to accomplish something record-breaking to be OK. I didn't have to justify my existence. THe image is of paper-doll cutouts dancing before a huge fire. THe fire was--I don't know--divine love. The paper dolls were all my daily fears, ambitions and vanities. FInally I could see beyond them into the fire.

G_d is love and we are one with G_d if we love.

Anecdote: for years and years I had problems with self-esteem (common problem with perfectionnists!), it is a very common problem you know. Once in meditation I saw God in the form of the Hindu God Shiva (with blue skin, a bit like the natural gas genie, if you will) three stories high picking me up like a doll and holding me tenderly to His heart and He said : Line I love You. I have been Catholic, Protestant. Now I am... me I guess. Labels mean nothing.

I created this meditation to help me center and be open to the voice of God. Breathe in Spirit; breathe out peace: The peace of God is above me. The peace of God is beneath me. The peace of God is around me. The peace of God is within me. The peace of God flows through me. I am peace. Peace to all.
