Caring
for the Earth
The Earth is our mother. Without her we couldn't survive. And
yet we keep mistreating her. To reverse this trend, each one
of us can and must do our share. Tell others what you do and
let yourself be inspired by what you read about their actions.

I will start by only using water for the following: to wash, to clean plates, to wash my hands, to drink, to flush, and to wash the car.

I began a practice of sending out two quartz crystals to everyone I send an order to, as well as those people I encounter in the world, whenever appropriate. I have connected all of these crystals with Reiki intention to heal the oceans and our Coral reefs. I ask all who receive these to keep one of the crystals for themselves, and to send one into an ocean, river, creek, quarry or lake with the intention that this connects their crystal to all of the others already in water, to form a Healing Grid, one small crystal at a time.
As a Scuba diver, I have a special concern for this most critical resource, and feel more comfortable underwater than I do on land....we are truly one!

Water sustains all life. We ALL resonate with the vibrations that are transmitted through water. It is very important to be aware of each thought you allow to entertain you, for it also entertains those around you. We ALL know this energy, this vibrations that touch each one of us and ALL living things around us. Without water there would be no flowers! No seeds! Our grandchildren inherit our actions today. Walk in peace and love.

Remember Water hears your every thought, feels your innermost being.Water resonates you lots, 'cos water's Flying through your systems a 1000 knots, through every cell, message sending, carrying your thoughts about yourself and all things through The Water's Being to all other resonant particles,
Almost writing articles to be enacted. You are Divinely Blessed with Loving Thoughts to Share,in every water drop which hangs in Air.
As you breath out, it speaks to every
Molecule in Australia because Water does not
Forget it is ONE with the Ocean, while manifest as droplets or as storms. WATER is your Grace, as is AIR in EVERY PLACE, instantaneously aware of this transcendent grace you share with every breath in all your waters sparkling, as you say "I love you", as you breathe air in, as you think "I love you" to the water, cells within each particle with all others speaks, smiles and leaks love into all our soils.Blessed Be.

I have long felt a connection to Earth, the need to care, share, and to keep maintained. The beauty that surrounds us is often lost in a race for material gain.
I remember seeing a commercial with Chief George (Native American) standing alongside a river or stream, and then seeing a tear from his eye because of what (We) have done to our planet.
We have a Duty to take care of Mother Earth, not only for us, but for the generations that will follow. We Must Be Good/Great Stewards of her.
May you each be Blessed, and enjoy your life's Journey.

I have recently done the novel "Millions" in my year 9 English class and Damian the little boy has a vision of the Ugandaian martyrs and one of the martyrs tells him about the scarcity of water in Africa and that water is so expensive that the people can't even afford to wash their hands. The martyr tells Damian that for as little as 10 pounds a well can be build in Africa and that will give a whole village access to clean water. My assessment task for this class was to design a poster for their favourite charity to ask for donations to build a well in Darfur so that the refugees may have access to clean drinking water. It was a blessing and many posters are now published on my classroom wall.

The quiz was both an eye opener and an inspiration to become more aware of water is an essential gift, yet how lacking is our awareness arround what a precious commodity it is. I make a committment to being more aware of how precious a gift it is .

I was humbled when I did the 'water test.'
So, today I will be ever grateful for what water I use and drink.
I will light a candle and pray that not only myself, but others will become more aware of how we can conserve our wonderful
GIFT OF WATER.

I usually tell my kids to tighten taps but that was for economic reasons. This site has opened my eyes to the fact that I have taking water for granted. I will now be more conscious of how I use it and stop being wasteful for enviromental reasons this time. Thanks Ted Oleari, I will follow your example and put the same sign on our spout. I am sure I will produce better results because my children are aware of the need to take care of the enviroment

In an effort to free the water in my area from prescription drugs, the Illinois Studies government class together with the Ecology class at my high school, have begun a program. Basically anyone can now take their unused or expired drugs back to the pharmacies in our area rather than flushing them or throwing them away where they are taken to our landfill just to seep into underground water. The students of these two classes want nothing more than to instill a sense of responsibility to our world, and it is the epitome of the “Think Globally, Act Locally” philosophy (which is my personal favorite). The Pontiac Prescription Drug Disposal Program (P2D2 Program) is open for anyone who would like to take it to their schools or area. For more information a fellow student of mine has set up an website p2d2program.org. Thanks!

I am on a mission to teach children how to honor the earth; to spend time hiking on their urban trails so that they get a first hand look at the condition of our landscapes...and also learn to enjoy the outdoors. So many spend much of their time indoors with electronic gadgets. Lets start encouraging a newfound relationship with the earth...and develop leaders that are good land stewards.

I often give thanks for the fact that I have access to running water. I've stayed with relatives in Jamaica in the countryside who don't. Our shower has been running hot and cold recently and today I washed my hair and complained about this. Coming on this site and doing the water quiz acts as a reminder to me to be grateful that I have water at all. I am always really careful about not wasting anything, including water and will continue to do so in. I will strive to be concious of, and to appreciate all that I have in my life. Thank-you

my partner and i installed an alternative water system that makes use of our 'waste' water for growing plants. we gratefully shifted from the compost toilet (ie, a bucket with sawdust to empty as needed). now the wick isn't working and we're back to the bucket, also using the sink as little as possible to reduce flow to the system. it's a reminder to keep our use down. i told my partner "if it's yellow, let it mellow; if it's brown, flush it down" which i learned as a child in dry california.

Please light a candle for the presidential candidates in the United States. The world needs a leader who understands and cares about the environmental problems faced by our world today. The world needs a leader who is not controlled by special interests groups but will guide with an understanding of the impact mistreating the earth has on our existence.
