Gift People

This forum is a hall-of-fame for people who are gifts in our lives and fill us with gratitude. Here you have an audience of thousands before whom to praise the grandparent who taught you more than any other teacher; an actor, a singer, a writer who inspired you; or maybe a person whose name you never knew, whom you met only once, and to whom you will be grateful forever. Of course you may also want to comment on the Gift People featured on this site or on other favorite saints and heroes.

I am so grateful for this moment, and for the moment I realised how wonderful life I am living.

I am grateful to have survived and overwind my deep depression of this week-end, by the faith and the confidence of all people around me and with the help of gratefulness.org.

I am grateful for every person that has touched my life. Some of these people I do not even know their name. I have learned so many things from people that have been in my life for one minute or 20+ years. I guess than I would have to say it is my Higher Power, whom I choose to call Joy, (that is what I recieve) for putting these people in my path. My mom, aunt Betty, and my friend Pat are really great examples in my life. Today i am sad, yet so grateful that when I work through my sadness I will be even more grateful than before my sadness. Thank you Joy

I have reciently become acquainted with Sri Aurobindo and the Mother here in Auroville in Southern India. Their stories are very inspiring and their vision for the world revelutionary. I wish they could be considered to be added to the list of Gift People.

i am grateful for the years that i had with my mother, i am at peace trusting that the universe will take care of her until we can be together again, the sorrow in my heart is slowly melting and i can see that these are our paths for reasons we may not always understand...and we will not have to walk them alone.

I honour my mother. I honour her work as a seamstress. I honour all that she taught me.

I am thankful for the relationships of my daughter, my sisters, my brothers, and my friends, Rose, Rick, Sherry, and for the new relationships I have made, Karen, our librarian at school, and some instructors and classmates. I will never stop loving the creatures of this Earth, they are miracles in and of themselves, but some of my favorites that I can see almost every day (even through the winter) are chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, cardinals. I have this relationship with my cats that is unusual, they are always cute and fluffy, we can complain about them, and they never take it personally (animally), they do things to keep our lives exciting, and keep us company when we are sick or down. This morning, my cat decided that while I was eating my cereal, she should put her whole head in my bowl. She's just a piggy. I laughed and told her to wait. It's these little interuptions that say, "Don't take life so seriously, don't just think about you and your worries, enjoy the moment."

I have finally met many of the men and women of my local Sheriff's office, and I have realized that they Are my neighbors. I am humbled and so very grateful that they are willing to step in and respond to the most horrible of tragedies. I wonder: What have I done to deserve such a gift? That they would be there for me even though they do not know me. I am humbled and grateful.

I am grateful for my family. Although I rarely see them, every one of them trusts and supports me regardless of whatever. I am also grateful for my old friend who's in heaven. She showed me appreciation and love, and taught me how to take care of others.

I am thankful for the firm earth below my feet, the green grass, the tree trunks, the thunder, the showers, birds, insects... this great wide beautiful wonderful earth. I am connected to the earth.
