Gift People

This forum is a hall-of-fame for people who are gifts in our lives and fill us with gratitude. Here you have an audience of thousands before whom to praise the grandparent who taught you more than any other teacher; an actor, a singer, a writer who inspired you; or maybe a person whose name you never knew, whom you met only once, and to whom you will be grateful forever. Of course you may also want to comment on the Gift People featured on this site or on other favorite saints and heroes.

I'm so grateful for a woman named Taruko who has been so loving through watching my father decline through a horrible disease. She is an earth angel.

Dear Anna from Phoenix, That is the 2nd time I've read about your Pine trees in the desert. I never forgot the first time I read it, it was during a drought here in Sicily where the desert is creeping up and I had no water for my plants. So I started talking to them too, and caressing their leaves. And trying to encourage them to live through that summer I found that they answered me! I often thought of you and your Desert Pine trees that summer, thanks.

Ironic? As I was just reading other people's posts speaking of Mothers...today is 48 years since mine passed away when I was just a little girl. See my pine trees Mama! They through me reach higher to you! Your little girl...all grown up now. Anna

Because I live in the desert and miss the true four seasons so much I plant pine trees in my backyard which does not even grow grass. I now have five, two of which are over 34ft tall. I water them, fertilize them, play musik for them on Saturdays and when no one is looking I hug their magnificent branches, or sit underneath them and look up at the night sky. They absolutely fill me with so much peace and joy as my life is seemingly void of people at the moment...I actually feel their love back to me and their way of saying thank you for caring for them. They are absolutely a delight to me and others come round to look at them in disbelief. So today to look at the video about trees, earth and the cells of a tree and her leaves blew me away. Godspeed to all of you that visit here...I send you a hug and a kiss to your heart.

God has guided me throughout my life, with a watchful eye,( I wasnt always listening:) ) He put a wonderful family in my path many years ago, and without their love, and spiritual guidance, I really dont think I would be alive today, the one person from this family that I love so much and am so grateful for is Dorothy, she is such a kind, loving and gentle spirit, and not a day goes by that I dont think of how she has done so much for so many people, and one really grateful person...right here...she is not well right now, and I just ask that if you are a praying person, and your reading this, please pray for her, pray that God will heal her...Thanks very much..and may God bless!!

Dear Ram, I am deeply grateful for your friendship and guidance. You are a gift to me and the world. You have brought me closer to my faith. You were the missing link between me and the great creator. You woke me up and brought focus into my everyday life. I love you and most deeply appreciate you for all that you have done, all that you are doing and will continue to do for me and all sentient beings. You are like the best friend anyone could ever hope for and more. You are deeply loved and appreciated. May you always be protected, safe, and happy.

I am thankful for my friend Linda, who accepts me as I am, and sees greater things in me than I see in myself ~ and encourages me in the gifts she sees in me. And I am thankful to God for giving me life, and giving His life for me, so that I can live forever with Him.

I am grateful for my husband. His empathy for all, his willingness to help me or anyone else, and, not least, his wicked sense of humor that makes me laugh each day. I am so glad we have had these years together and look forward to more years unfolding.
