Creativity
...
Is there a central preoccupation in your life, a melodic
thread that runs through its entire symphony? If you can
name it right now, you have much reason to be grateful. But
even if you cannot name it, this guiding theme may be woven
into the music of your days, and you need only listen more
carefully.

I have am grateful for so many reasons. Grateful for the air that we can breathe, the food that we can eat and the ability to smile at a stranger. Writing has become a passion for me that I enjoy and I am truly grateful that I have been given the ability to do so in a manner that touches others, possibly giving them words to their feelings that they may otherwise not understand. I'm also extremely grateful for the love that fills my heart and spills out onto the people that I encounter on a daily basis.

I have been soul searching for a very long time on what my purpose is in life. I feel that I am a "Jack of all trades, but a master of none." I am grateful for all the gifts that God has given me - I am very creative - in many aspects - but have been unable to focus on one. I need to concentrate on one talent & give it my all otherwise I feel that I will not be successful. But most of all to use the skills I have been blessed with rather than wallowing.

I found this site yesterday...and I am grateful.Creativity is a part of our nature, a gift from the Great Spirit...whether we are painting, sewing (making handcrafted dolls), cooking, combing hair, planting seeds, etc., it is one connection to that which is greater than us. My artmaking is a form of prayer, meditation, communion. As the writer Mary Daly reminds us: "It is the creative potential itself in human beings that is the image of God."

I am so very grateful that Pia Stern is teaching art at UCSD Extension and that George is ever supportive in all my endeavors. My gratitude extends to Marty and all my friends and family that offer encouragements along my path. My goal is to reclaim my creativity as I have started to regain some of the capabilities, techniques, methods that I have ignored for so many years.

As a child, I was told by an art teacher that I didn't have any creativity!... Wow! For many years I beleived it was so, until lately I discovered I could sew some pretty nice dolls from a pattern. Eventually I started to make my own patterns. May be it's only crafts for some, not fine art, but I consider they are pretty in their different costumes: angels, Xmas elves, etc... I offered some of them to my friends and they all liked my dolls. I discovered that any one can find some creative skills within ourselves, either musical, or creative writing, or other forms of art. It's through a course to develop our creativity, that I discover my hidden talent. But to reach this hidden talent, I had to dig in my past to see what was stopping me from using my creativity: the blockage was from a childhood trauma. I encourage everyone to reach for your dreams! Reach for the stars! Creativity & imagination is unlimited when you start! It brings a lot of happiness, a sense of accomplishment.

I thank the Goddess for the gift of music she has blessed me with, and the gift of hearing to appreciate it. I see a world in which, instead of fighting, people would all gather and sing and make music, where voices would be raised in harmony and beauty. They say that if everyone jumped at the same time they would change the rotation of the earth. If every person on earth sang at the same time it would change the universe.

(Purgation, onset of Illumination.) Finding One's Self (Transpersonal)... Odyssey of the Human Spirit - in integrating & unifying one's Self, as in 12 steps & other growth-&-health modalities (cognitive-behavioral-humanistic-transpersonal), it is essential to discriminate between the ego & Presence or Essence (cf: Riso's " Wisdom of Enneagram, ' Direction of Integration'); interestingly, too, it is a saltus or leap into existence beyond mind or rationalism per se. It is mind-body-spirit (ontopsychosomatic entity or continuum) being unified integrally, holistically, nondually... To be or not to be, is the Quest!

Being grateful for our energy centers of the body. (Chakras) A blessing for these centers:
May we walk in PEACE.
May our power come from LOVE.
May we transform our fears into JOY,
May we be centered from our heart,
to speak our truth in a loving non judgemental way,
May we have clarity and understanding,
To live gracefully in the light.

I'm grateful for the healing flow I am feeling. I have always had this "acronym" in my mind--"M.A.T.H." which stands for Mystic, Artist, Teacher, Healer. I always seem to revolve around these points, and I am very interested in how they dovetail. It would be fabulous to be functioning strongly from all these roles simultaneously and for a sustained period of time. I'm still learning, of course, and am curious what it would look like to do so.
