Grateful Living
In the ground beneath an ant hill stretches a vast network of tunnels, teaming with ants. Our world is teaming with grateful people, and this website is merely a little ant hill sticking out into cyberspace. The ants work on their project in silence, but we have the gift of language. Let's use this to share the insights, questions, joys, or difficulties we encounter in our daily practice of gratitude. Thus, we will build our project: a Network for Grateful Living.

I am grateful for my entire body, for being whole and healthy. I tend to judge the appearance of it a lot, but this makes me come back to the reality... that I am blessed to be in this very body I have today.

My neighbours are elderly and disabled. I help out by letting out and feeding their ducks and chickens in the morning and letting their dog out, and then repeating the process in the evening, shutting up the poultry for the night. This morning it was raining. It is Monday - a week at work lies ahead. We spent most of the week-end pressing apples for cider, so when I went across in my yard boots I felt tired. I did my chores and waved to my neighbours who were in their wheelchairs. I suddenly felt overcome with gratitude and joy at being able to be out in the mud, in the rain, able to move and walk about. Able to drive to work. So much I tend to take for granted, rather than give thanks.
