Volunteer Opportunities

We are indebted to all of the volunteers at A Network for Grateful Living (ANG*L) who generously devote valuable time and energy to our organization. Each individual's contribution has a direct impact and helps shape Gratefulness.org, our workshops, Br. David's engagements, and other elements of our work.

At any given time, ANG*L has 30 or more active volunteers, with responsibilities distinct from those of ANG*L’s board and staff.  Some show up to do a single task (often repeatedly):  They translate text, contribute a story or photo, edit a book, send us a link suggestions, and the like.  Others have an ongoing role upon which we can count:  They monitor a forum, provide the staff with computer support, serve successive terms on a board committee (etc.).  People volunteer for many reasons, but mostly because they want to make a difference. We try to value their time by ensuring it is used to make the greatest difference possible, reinforcing their connection with our mission which inspires them, and keeping them connected with a web of caring relationships.

If you are interested in volunteering with ANG*L, you can learn more about us through our history, our mission, our current services, and our mini-course on gratefulness.  Currently we need help in these areas of expertise:

* Public Relations and Marketing professionals - We are looking for people to put out the word about gratefulness and ANG*L. If you have professional writing and/or marketing experience and want to publicize our work in your local paper, on television, or in magazines, please let us know.

* Gift Person Essays - We are always adding to our list of Gift People. If you like to write and have a special inspiring person in mind, we invite you to contact us about your choice and send a writing sample.  If your idea is chosen, we'll ask you to research and compose an essay for this feature.

* Forum Monitors - Our forums thrive through the careful attention of monitors who respond to inquiries, welcome newcomers, and insure the integrity of content.  We have ideas for new forums which we can only implement when the right volunteer comes along, someone with writing skills, modest technical know-how, and the ability to listen.

Beyond ANG*L - There are countless ways to express your gratefulness through volunteer work.  Here are a couple of resources where you can explore opportunities close to home or in other communities around the world.
